This training emphasizes the importance of transparency and compliance in government and informs the public of their rights under New Mexico’s Sunshine Laws. The training is offered at no cost and is open to all interested officials and employees of state and local governments, school boards, and public bodies, as well as the media and general public.

Trainings will be divided into two sessions as follows: 

• 9:20 AM Check-In
• 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA) 
• 11:15 AM – 12:45 PM Open Meetings Act (OMA) and Public Meetings

Registration for the training is required. A remote attendance option is available to those who are unable to attend in person.
