Veterans

The New Mexico Department of Justice is committed to protecting New Mexican veterans. Attorney General Raúl Torrez has made it clear that scams targeting veterans will not be tolerated, and that our veterans deserve the benefits they have earned through their sacrifice to this country.

“Our veterans have sacrificed and fought for our country and deserve to be treated with the utmost respect – not taken advantage of by businesses illegally seeking to make a profit off of their earned benefits,” said Attorney General Raúl Torrez. “We are committed to ensuring that consumers in New Mexico are protected from these bad actors. Our office will prosecute any individual or organization attempting to take advantage of our veterans to the fullest extent of the law.”

If you or someone you know has paid for services related to acquiring veteran benefits (paid “claim sharks”), has been incorrectly denied a benefit, or if you have a concern about a different issue relating to veterans, please submit a complaint using the link below.
