ALBUQUERQUE — Today, New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas announced the indictment of Jimmy Pardo-Thul for Manufacturing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). In January 2022, AG Balderas indicted Jimmy Pardo-Thul for Possession of CSAM. After a forensic review of his devices, it was learned that Pardo-Thul was managing a library of thousands of images depicting the sexual abuse of children, and law enforcement was able to identify that he was also creating additional copies of these images.
“This is a horrific case of child victimization, and I have no tolerance for those that cause immense suffering to innocent children,” said Attorney General Balderas.
Pardo-Thul had multiple folders and applications he used to manage and categorize the thousands of images of CSAM child sexual abuse material that he possessed. The ages of the children in the images ranged from infants to pubescent females. Pardo-Thul now faces an additional 11 counts of manufacturing for creating copies of these images, which adds 132 years to his possible sentence.
The cases were investigated as part of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. The investigation involved the NM Office of the Attorney General, the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, and the Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant Attorney General Ashley Schweizer. Although Jimmy Pardo-Thul has been charged, he is presumed innocent until proven guilty at trial.
The case was brought as a part of the New Mexico ICAC Task Force’s mission, which is to locate, track and capture internet child sexual predators on internet child pornographers in New Mexico. There are over 90 federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies associated with the New Mexico ICAC Task Force, which is funded by an Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) grant administered by the New Mexico Office of the Attorney General. Anyone with information relating to suspected child predators is encouraged to contact federal or local law enforcement or make an anonymous report through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, (https://www.missingkids.org/
