Santa Fe, NM – Tomorrow, the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (PRC) will be holding a public hearing to consider the Application of New Mexico Public Service Company (PNM) regarding approval of a Special Services Contract and Advice Notice for a potential new customer, Facebook, Inc. If approved the proposal would put New Mexico in the running with Utah for consideration of Facebook’s next data center. If located here, the facility would provide New Mexico with a significant source of new renewable energy with virtually no increase to residential or small business ratepayers. Besides the environmental benefits, the project will
create additional jobs for the State of New Mexico while increasing tax revenue.
“I’m committed to ensuring that New Mexico families have access to clean, affordable energy, and to protecting and encouraging job growth for New Mexico’s future, so I will be submitting comments to the PRC in favor of this project later this week” said Attorney General Balderas.
