Albuquerque, NM — Today, Attorney General Raúl Torrez and Deutsche Bank announced a $4.95 million pledge by Deutsche Bank to fund additional resources to prevent, investigate, and prosecute human trafficking in the state of New Mexico. The pledge of support comes in the wake of Attorney General Torrez’s ongoing investigation into various financial services companies and the role they played in failing to identify the sexual abuse and trafficking of underage girls at Jeffrey Epstein’s Zorro Ranch in Santa Fe County, New Mexico.
“The fight against human trafficking and sexual exploitation extends to the corporate board room and I am pleased that Deutsche Bank recognizes its ongoing responsibility to help us combat this problem,” said AG Torrez. “We appreciate the steps they have taken since terminating Jeffrey Epstein as a client in 2018 to strengthen their oversight capabilities and intend to use their pledge to support our ongoing efforts to apprehend traffickers and expand our victim services.”
A spokesperson for Deutsche Bank added: “We are pleased to support the Attorney General in this important effort, which reflects our industry’s shared responsibility to play an active role in safeguarding the financial system.”
