Albuquerque, NM – Today, an Albuquerque jury found Adam Kerns guilty of Child Solicitation by an Electronic Communication Device (child 13-16 (appears for meet), a third degree felony offense. Kerns engaged in graphic and extensive sexual communication with an undercover detective, who was posing as a child over the course of about a week. Kerns showed up to meet the perceived child with condoms and confessed to sending sexual text messages to someone he believed to be 13 years old.

“We only get one shot at protecting our children and we will continue to prosecute high risk criminals who use the internet to prey on our children,” said Attorney General Hector Balderas.

A presentence report and diagnostic evaluation have been ordered for the defendant. He faces up to three years in prison and sex offender registration for a period of ten years.
