Posting Details

The financial control division handles all financial transactions of the agency including travel, purchasing, procurement, grants management, settlement management, reporting and the annual audit.

Why does the job exist?

This position will be responsible for procurement of contractors, financial contract management and grants management.

How does it get done?

Responsibilities includes periodic reporting, procuring contractors, executing contracts, assist with financial division functions.

Who are the customers?

Internal stakeholders needing contractual services, federal and state grant oversight entities, vendors interacting with the agency.

Ideal Candidate

Prefer 7 years of related experience in finance, accounting/auditing, contracting and/or grants; NM Certified Procurement Officer; highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks with supervision.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration and five (5) years of directly related experience in budgeting, accounting and/or auditing. For use at the State Investment Council Only: any budgeting, accounting and/or auditing experience is acceptable. Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment as some statewide travel maybe required. Employment is subject to criminal background check and is conditional pending results of criminal background check. Be of good moral character and not have been convicted of a felony offense by a court of this state, any other state or the United States.

Working Conditions

Office setting, exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting, including during public meetings and hearings. Must be able to lift 25 lbs, and some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Some occasional travel, including overnight travel, may be required in and out of state.
