Albuquerque, NM — Today the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office filed an action on behalf of consumers impacted by the unexpected closure of New Mexico Solar Group which has operated in communities across the state since 2015. Among other issues, the Attorney General’s Office is primarily concerned with assisting in the recovery of monies paid by customers for services that were not completed before the business’s decision to wind down operations. In addition to the action against New Mexico Solar Group, the office also confirmed that investigations have been opened on Meraki Solar and Titan Solar after the office received a significant number of consumers complaints alleging unfair and deceptive business practices.
“This office will aggressively protect consumer interests under my administration and those in the solar installation industry are on notice that we will not abide any unethical or deceptive business practices,” said New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez. “New Mexico should be at the forefront of adopting solar technology and concerned citizens who are making the decision to switch to solar should not be taken advantage of by these companies.”
Any customer who believes that they have been impacted by a solar installation company are encouraged to file a complaint here at the New Mexico Attorney General’s website using the red “Submit A Complaint” button at the top right of the page or call the office at 505-490-4060.
