Nintedo Switch

  1. From the home screen on the console, select System Settings.
  2. Scroll down until you see Parental Controls and click on Parental Control Settings.
  3. Select Use this Console.
  4. Enter a PIN and store this PIN for future reference.
  5. Choose an appropriate Restriction Level from the choices of None, Teen, Pre-Teen, or Child.
  6. You can also select Custom Settings to manually adjust each setting.
  7. With the Parental Controls App, you can limit sharing of in-game text or images per game and restrict the ability to post screenshots to social media.
  8. You may also set restrictions on who can make Nintendo eShop purchases via your Nintendo Account settings.
  9. The Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app lets users control settings for their Nintendo Switch systems. However, it does not include settings for the app or the Nintendo Switch Online app, because apps run on smart devices rather than a Nintendo system. The set restrictions for your apps. Please refer to your smart device settings.

PlayStation 5

  1. Go to Settings from the home screen.
  2. From there, select Family and Parental Controls, followed by PS5 Console Restrictions.
  3. Enter the system default password (0000).
  4. Change the default password and store it for future reference.
  5. Adjust the Parental Controls for each game according to its age rating.
  6. For internet browsing, select Web Filter under PS5 Console Restrictions to customize the level of control.
  7. If your child is the only person using the console then you can stop new users from being created and disable the guest user. This means that the parental controls will be applied to the entire console no matter who is using it.

Xbox Series X

  1. Press the X button on your controller to open the guide.
  2. Navigate to Profile & System.
  3. Navigate to Settings, then Account, then Family Settings.
  4. Select Manage Family Members, then Add to Family.
  5. Select your child’s account to customize the Privacy & Online Safety settings.
  6. Choose whether you would like to allow or block Microsoft from collecting data from your Xbox and your account.
